Mullin said Teenage Time Killer was originally planned to be a smaller project, according to NME. Mullin said the idea grew when more artists got involved with the band.

Mullin discussed the kind of music the band will produce in an interview, UPROXX reported.

"We had all these other folks that want to participate," Mullin said. "It's a very good mixture of old hardcore punk, and metal stuff...People are going to be pleasantly surprised."

More artists have joined Teenage Time Killer since the announcement of the project, including Corrison of Conformity's Pepper Keenan and Karl Agell, Stereogum reported.

Grohl recently recorded the instrumental parts for the band at his Studio 606 studio for an upcoming record, according to Stereogum.

Grohl commented on the new album Foo Fighters is working on, saying the album is different from all of their previous work, NME reported. The band recently posted a picture of a row tapes labeled 'Foo Fighters LP 8' to their official Instagram, saying the new album is "fucking on."

Additions to Teenage Time Kill include Clutch's Neil Fallon and Soulfly's Max Cavalera, according to Radio.com. Other bands to be featured include Municipal Waste, Goatsnake, My Ruin, Prong, The Misfits, Brujeria and Articles of Faith.

A release date for the band's project has yet to be revealed, according to Consequence of Sound.
