Miley Cyrus' Bangerz concert have been forbidden in the Dominican Republic after its authorities ban the pop star due to "acts that go against morals and customs."

According to the AP, the Dominican Republic government commission, which handles public performances in the country is effectively forbidding the Miley Cyrus' Bangerz concert scheduled on September 13 because of morality.

In a statement, the Dominican Republic's National Entertainment and Radio Commission (CNEPR) justified their decision due to the fact that the singer now "undertakes acts that go against morals and customs, which are punishable by Dominican law."

A local newspaper, Hoy, launched a poll among 729 residents of Sto. Domingo, capital of Dominican Republic. 64% voted for the banning Miley Cyrus' Bangerz concert in the country, while 36% voted against the banning of the concert, saying that it is repressive of the freedom of expression.

The 21-year-old Cyrus' current image as a highly sexualized songstress is a far cry from her Hannah Montana days. The singer has reportedly worn outfits with cannabis patterns and have acted out oral sex onstage with a political figure's impersonator.

Critics have repeatedly said that the star's antics onstage, just like the twerking and crotch-grabbing acts, are nothing but provocative and vulgar.

The Independent also reported that Cyrus have previously smoked marijuana onstage, an act that is punishable by law in the Dominican Republic.

However, the star has continually released shocking performances like her barenaked shot in her latest music video of the hit song, "Wrecking Ball." But nonetheless, fans still consumed her music and propelled her single to high ranks on the music charts.

The Miley Cyrus concert tickets were sold for $27 to $370, and the organizers of the Miley Cyrus' Bangerz concert performance in Dominican Republic have already released tickets since July.

No official word yet released from either the organizers or Miley Cyrus' camp after the ban.
