As the "Let It Go" craze hasn't stopped since Elsa first swept the audiences worldwide with her singing voice, news online on "Frozen 2" plot, cast and release date continue to buzz.
The Disney 3D musical fantasy animation was released late 2013. Based on the classic fairytale "Snow Queen" created by Hans Christian Andersen, quickly rose to become one of the highest-grossing animated film. Earning up to $1.2 billion worldwide, both story and music of "Frozen" instantly became known all throughout the world.
The musical features stage actress Idina Menzel, known for her work as Elphaba in "Wicked" on Broadway and Mimi in Jonathan Larson's "Rent". Together with Menzel in the movie are Kristen Bell, Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad as Anna, Kristoff and Olaf, respectively.
The success of "Frozen" resonated online through song covers from both celebrity and fans, and of course numerous speculations about a "Frozen 2" plot, cast and release date.
In September 2 during a TV special in ABC titled "The Story of Frozen: Making an Animated Classic", Disney announced that there will be a sequel to the "Frozen" movie, albeit a mini-sequel, not a full-length movie (for now).
The short films, reportedly four mini-movies, will be based on books to be released in 2015. Random House partners up with Disney both have created stories using the ending of the movie as jump off points. The plotlines will revolve around the adventures of both Anna and Elsa and the magical life they both lead. The first two books are Anna & Elsa #1: All Hail the Queen, and Anna & Elsa #2: Memory and Magic. Both books will be released by January 6, 2015.
To date, Random House showcases other "Frozen" stories such as "A Day in the Sun" (Olaf story), "A New Reindeer Friend", and "The Christmas Story."
As far as "Frozen 2" plot, cast and release date goes, Disney has only released information on the mini-sequel. But that doesn't mean Anna and Elsa's adventure ends in their first big screen debut.
