On September 7, Chuck Todd's Meet the Press Barack Obama Episode took place and instead of finding answers, the president's appearance only created more questions. There, he talked about the threats that Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant militants bring to the country. The 44th president of America didn't say directly that his forces are leaning towards the plan of waging war against the militants from Middle East. However, if you will examine his words closely, his answers sees to be pointing that way.
Chuck Todd fired away the question that most people want to ask the president, "Are you preparing the country to go back to war?
Obama didn't respond with a yes or a no. Instead, he said that his administration is "preparing the country to make sure that we deal with a threat from ISIL." He insisted that the measures that they will take are not 'equivalent of the Iraq war.'
"What this is...is similar to the kinds of counterterrorism campaigns that we've been engaging in consistently over the last five, six, seven years. And the good news is is that because of American leadership, we have I believe, a broad-based coalition internationally and regionally to be able to deal with the problem."
President Obama also said that in the more immediate term' ISIL ambition to invade more territories raise threats to "friends, partners in the region and is causing all kinds of hardship."
For the ISIL's brute actions, he is "asking the American people to understand is, number one, this is a serious threat. Number two, we have the capacity to deal with it. Here's how we're going to deal with it. I am going to be asking Congress to make sure that they understand and support what our plan is. And it's going to REQUIRE SOME RESOURCES, I suspect, above what we are currently doing in the region."
