Sep 09, 2014 01:45 PM EDT | By Staff Reporter

The Melting Pot, a rising fondue-style restaurant chain, is seeking to expand its franchise into Calgary, Canada.

"The Melting Pot concept is backed by 30 years of experience in franchising and nearly 40 years of brand recognition, making this an ideal business opportunity for entrepreneurs," Dan Stone, vice president of franchise development for Front Burner Brands, told Restaurant News.

"Since the brand has been well-received in Edmonton, we see tremendous growth potential for The Melting Pot in Calgary. We look forward to connecting with potential franchisees at the event and highlighting the many benefits of investing in our unique dining concept."

The company will be exhibiting at the upcoming National Franchise & Business Opportunities Expo that will take place from Sept. 20-21 at the Telus Convention Centre in Calgary.

The Melting Pot, along with several other American-based franchises, have been exploring expansion efforts in Canada, given the country's relatively lax regulations on new business.

The restaurant chain currently has 135 restaurants around North America and has more than 25 locations in development internationally, Restaurant News also reports.

Franchise officials have not divulged information as it pertains to specific openings in Calgary.
