Does your skin look dry, flaky and feel very itchy? Chances are you have skin eczema.

What is skin eczema?

Skin eczema is a skin disease that ranges from itchy skin that appear very dry and flaky to acute flare-ups that leaves the skin with an open wound. This can be caused by food allergen, change of weather and stress.

Most people treat their eczema with creams that contains steroids or anti-allergy pills. It gives the instant relief that people need but using medicine over and over again may prove detrimental in the long run. Putting cortiosteroids may work for a time but after repeated use, the skin builds up a certain immunity and thus, it is likely that you will be needing a stronger dose of medicine for it to work. Anti-allergy pills also helps in the immediate relief but does not make problem go away.

There is an alternative for those medical treatments. To solve your eczema problem, you should start by living a healthy life. Improving your diet and lifestyle choice is very important for people living with eczema. By doing this, you will be able to build a stronger immune system and be able to flush out all the toxins in the body. Your meals should consist of a balanced diet and eliminate all processed and junk foods, sodas, artificial sweeteners. Go organic with your fruits and vegetables and buy only those that were not chemically sprayed with insecticide. Those add up to the toxins inside your body.

One should also exercise moderately and aim to reduce your stress level as stress can exacerbate your eczema. Try enrolling in yoga classes or going to the gym a few times a week.

There are also natural appications that you can use to replace the pharmaceutical medicines. You can try putting virgin coconut oil on the affected area before and after taking a shower. This will leave the moisture trapped in your skin and help prevent the skin from drying out. Aloe vera is also good fo your skin. You can mix it with vitamin E oil and apply it directly to the affected area. Applying Manuka honey to your skin and leaving it for a few minutes before rinsing it off can also help although it might be an expensive alternative.
