After eight years, fans of the music icon of all time Mariah Carey will hear her five-octave vocal range once again as she relives her biggest hits from her number one R & B album, The Elusive Chanteuse. Many say the Mariah Carey World Tour: "The Elusive Chanteuse Show" that officially kicks off in October in key cities in Asia, is the diva's very productive way to keep busy as feelers of her divorce with TV host-DJ Nick Canon begin to spread on the sidelights.

The Asian-conquest-first leg of the tour will have Mariah and her entourage perform in different Asian countries at an interval of two or four days. According to mariahcarey.com, the opening salvo will happen in Tokyo and Yokohama, Japan. The country, where her album sold 20 million copies that earned her 'best selling international artist', was said to be close to her heart. This is her way of saying 'arigato' to her Japanese fans.

After two days, the group will move to Seoul, South Korea, and then set foot in China to perform in five cities. This is Mariah's first performance visit in China. Afterwards, the show will proceed to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Singapore, Taipei (Taiwan), Manila (Philippines), and Bangkok (Thailand).

In choosing the songs from The Elusive Chanteuse, Mariah said "I want to experience the spontaneity and emotion that I put into this album on stage with my fans." Put in another way, the sounds that gave Mariah her stature in the music industry will remind the fans that she still holds the crown when it comes to quality belting.

Mariah's camp hinted of surprises to pop up during the show, which could be a new song she just wrote. "I can't stop writing songs so don't be surprised if you hear a brand new song that I just wrote the night before the show in your city!," she added.

Mariah Carey has sold over 220 million albums and 18 Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 singles, most of which were her original compositions.
