Updated Adrian Peterson News: Surrenders to Sheriff’s Office After Less Than A Day Of Child Abuse Indictment, Released After Posting $15,000 Bond

Running back of the Minnesota Vikings Adrian Peterson news updates on child abuse case, his surrender and release all in one day.

Before the weekend, Adrian Peterson news surfaced online on his indictment on charges of reckless or negligent injury to a child. Specifically towards his 4-year-old boy. A warrant of arrest was issued soon after.

Following reports on the warrant surfaced online, the Vikings promptly deactivated Peterson from the Vikings vs. Patriots game on Sunday. According the ESPN, "The Vikings released a statement earlier Friday saying they're in the process of gathering information about Peterson's legal situation."

Rusty Hardin, Peterson's attorney, released the statement to ESPN, "This indictment follows Adrian's full cooperation with authorities who have been looking into this matter. Adrian is a loving father who used his judgment as a parent to discipline his son. He used the same kind of discipline with his child that he experienced as a child growing up in east Texas. Adrian has never hidden from what happened. He has cooperated fully with authorities and voluntarily testified before the grand jury for several hours."

Police reports divulged to TMZ states that Adrian Peterson news show that he regrets what happened through text messages sent to the little boy's mother.

In his text messages, he says "Got him in the nuts once I noticed. But I felt so bad, n I'm all tearing that butt up when needed!" He also sends this: "Never do I go overboard! But all my kids will know, hey daddy has he biggest heart but don't play no games when it comes to acting right."

Adrian Peterson news updates on the case reveals that the NFL star surrendered to the Montgomery County Sheriff Office around 1AM on Saturday. He left the County Jail in less than an hour, after posting a $15,000 bail bond.
