iPhone 6 And iPhone 6 Plus Shortage? 'Demand For The iPhones Exceeds The Initial Pre-order Supply', Setting A New Record For The Tech Giant, Says Apple

Apple on Monday announced that a new record has been set for the tech giant company after the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus sales "exceeds the initial pre-order supply" after the devices went on sale last Friday.

According to Yahoo! News, Apple said it received more than four million pre-orders in the first 24 hours that the new smartphones went on sale.

In a statement given by tech giant Chief Executive Tim Cook, he said "Pre-orders for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus set a new record for Apple, and we can't wait to get our best iPhones yet into the hands of customers starting this Friday."

The statement also added that the "demand for the new iPhones exceeds the initial pre-order supply and while a significant amount will be delivered to customers beginning on Friday and throughout September, many iPhone pre-orders are scheduled to be delivered in October."

This means that shortages and long queues may be expected when the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus begin to be sold at retail stores, the media outlet said.

It was only last week that Apple launched their new devices: the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, and Apple Watch. The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus are Apple's first smartphones with bigger display competing with other brands known for larger screens.

The move, which was dubbed "biggest advancement in iPhone"  aims to prove that the tech giant company remains to be the trend-setter in the smarphone industry.

The report added that sales will start 8 am local time the US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore and Britain. Some 20 countries are scheduled to get iPhone on September 26.

The iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus have a display of 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches, respectively.

According to Apple, the iPhone 6 is available at 16 GB ($199), 64 GB ($299 GB), and 128 GB ($399). The iPhone 6 Plus goes also with the same memory storage although they differ in prices: at 16 GB ($299), 64 GB ($399 GB), and 128 GB ($499).
