Apple iOS 8 upgrade to iPhone 4s users can slow down the smartphone's performance.

Since the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus that features new Apple iOs 8 was launched in an event in Cupertino. Apple fans had been excited of the new iOs,but before updating you need atleast free 5GB of free storage.

According to , tech site Mashable.

"Apple released the update Wednesday, sending customers in a blind fit of rage upon realizing they'd have to delete apps, photos and music - basically everything they have ever been and ever will be - to make room for the software upgrade," it said.

The users excitement turned to rage especially those iPhone 4s owners.

Reports from Art Technica stated that, "iOS 8 will slow down your handset noticeably with two times slower launching of stock apps, almost three seconds longer booting and more."

It also added that "the 4S uses 2.4GHz-only 802.11n Wi-Fi, has no LTE, and uses an Apple A5 chip that is no match for the 5S' A7 chip, let alone the A8 in the iPhone 6."

"If you don't mind (or actively prefer) your 4S' screen size, by all means, continue to enjoy it. You'll just have to do more scrolling than you do on and iPhone 5 or an iPhone 6,"

This is not the first time iPhone 4s users encountered problems updating their iOS. As we can remember some iPhone 4s users had greyed out wifi and bluetooth option after updating to iOS 7.1.

There were reports that it was a hardware problem. Some users resolved the issue by putting their iPhones in the freezer.

Now, another new version of iOS has been released. Some iPhones survived the iOS 7.1 and 7.1.2 update; and some didn't with their wifi and bluetooth greyed out.

Arts Techinica compared the iOS 7.1.2 and iOS 8 in an iPhone 4s.

According to a table of its comparison this is what International Business Times noted about the difference of the two iOS.

  • Mail app is only marginally slower on iOS 8 than iOS 7.1.2.
  • Call forwarding feature and Camera app seem to launch just fine with barely any lags or slow downs.
  • Calendar loads about 60 percent longer. Safari launches 70% slower in iOS 8 than iOS 7.1.2.
  • Settings take 30% longer time to open in iOS 8.
  • Cold-booting the device takes an additional three seconds to complete in iOS 8.

Looks like the iPhone 4s can no longer keep up with Apple's new iOs. So, its better for the iPhone 4s to stay out dated and keep its functionality.
