Lebron James News: Cleveland Cavaliers Star Says Having Big Three Isn't New In The League; Does He Consider Himself, Irving, And Love As One?

When the Miami Heat ruled the NBA for two straight years, from 2012 to 2013, many attributed their success to the Big Three composed of Lebron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh. The trio was formed in 2010 when King James and Bosh decided to move to South Beach from Cleveland and Toronto, respectively. The road to success wasn't smooth though for the now defunct Big Three. Before they bagged their first championship, they were embarrassed by Dallas Mavericks in 2011 NBA Finals. When they achieved what they want, the Miami Heat was criticized for 'buying talent.'

For Lebron James though, forming a big three isn't new in the league. He said that this has been the norm for many NBA teams over the decades.

Speaking to Gerald Flores of Complex during a special media event for the launch of Nike LeBron 12, King James, who has returned to Cleveland Cavaliers, said that big three has been going on 'forever.'

"A Big Three isn't new in our league. A Big Three has been going on forever. You've had Jerry West, Elgin Baylor and Wilt Chamberlain. You've had Jordan Pippen, Rodman, and then Jordan, Pippen, Kukoc. This Big Three thing has been around forever. It's like dinosaurs. You can even go back to Havlicek, Russell, and Bob Cousy. It's not new. Everyone just wants to make it a thing now."

As he returns to Cleveland, Lebron James is slowly turning the team into a title contender by acquiring star players. He arrived there with All-Star and FIBA World champion Kyrie Irving waiting. Then, the management acquired another All-Star Kevin Love in exchange for 2014 number one pick Andrew Wiggins. Reports say Cavaliers was able to get Kevin Love after the power forward received a call from King James.

Lebron James, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love form Cavs' very own big three, according to the media. James hasn't said anything if they are indeed the big three but he has expressed huge trust for his new teammates.

"I believe Kyrie can be the best point guard in the league very soon, and Kevin Love is already in the discussion as far as being the best power forward in the league," he said.
