After the announcement of metal-bodied Samsung Galaxy Alpha, another smartphone is reportedly to be released by the giant Korean phone company soon: the Samsung Galaxy A5.

According to sammobile.com, the SM-A500F would be the first of the three A series devices the company would launch in the coming months.

The said handset would be launched as the Samsung Galaxy A5, which is almost similar to the design of the Samsung Galaxy Alpha.

An insider told the website that the device might not be using metallic material for its body unlike its predecessors Galaxy Alpha and Galaxy S5.

The Samsung Galaxy A5 might not be made of plastic or metal, the website said, but a material that "feels cold in the hand."

While sammobile.com suggests that metallic devices are "often cold to the touch", it also notes that there are possible materials to be used that are not as expensive as metal.

Samsung may be using a different material so as not to shoot up the price of the anticipated smartphone, yet the premium external feature would be maintained, the website said.

In terms of display, the report said the Samsung Galaxy A5 would have a 5-inch HD Super AMOLED, which is coupled with primary camera of 13 megapixel and front-facing camera of 5 megapixel.

Like the Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy A5 utilizes TouchWiz, with a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor.

Samsung Galaxy A5 would also have a 2330 mAh battery and 16-GB internal memory.

Samsung's move for innovating cheaper smartphones might be attributed to reported decline of its annual sale, according to hardwarezone.com.

Technology analyst Lee Seung-woo of IBK Securities offers an explanation on this: "The earnings deliver a harsh reality check to Samsung that it is not Apple, but Samsung. Its strategy of selling phones at expensive prices will not work anymore, as Chinese rivals also offer good enough phones at much cheaper prices."
