Prometheus Movie Sequel: Director Ridley Scott Says Film Will Return With No More Xenomorphs But There Will Be A New Beast

Sep 26, 2014 08:20 AM EDT | By Staff Reporter

“The beast is done. Cooked.” - this is what director Ridley Scott said about the Prometheus Movie sequel that will hit the big screen by 2016. The 76-year old English director was referring to the xenomorph that become iconic when it appeared in the 2012 movie. Ridley sat down with Yahoo Movies to talk about Star Wars: Episode VII and his other movies and there, he dropped the hammer for the iconic beast in the science fiction film.

“I got lucky meeting Giger all those years ago. It’s very hard to repeat that. I just happen to be the one who forced it through because they said it’s obscene. They didn’t want to do it and I said, ‘I want to do it, it’s fantastic’. But after four (he has conveniently forgotten the ‘AvP’ movies), I think it wears out a little bit. There’s only so much snarling you can do. I think you’ve got to come back with something more interesting.”

Although there will be no more xenomorphs in the Prometheus movie sequel, Ridley assures that fans will still have something to look forward to.

"And I think we’ve found the next step. I thought the Engineers were quite a good start.

“You’ll probably have to go with [Noomi Rapace’s Elizabeth Shaw] and [Michael Fassbender’s android David] – without his head. Find out how he gets his head back on!”

The Prometheus movie sequel went through a lot before getting confirmed. This is despite their impressive performance in the box office when it was shown in 2012. The film earned $403.4 million from a budget of $120-130 million.

After at least two years of getting stalled, Prometheus movie sequel was confirmed to have gotten its green light when the Wrap reported that a new writer has been hired to write the second installment.
