In a recent statement, Mimi Blue Restaurant has informed its loyal customers about the closure of its Mass Ave. location in downtown Indy.

The statement, titled "To our loyal customers, we are notifying you of the closure and the soon-to-be-announced sale of our final Mimi Blue Restaurant location on Mass. Ave.," expressed gratitude for the support received over the past decade.

The restaurant aimed to provide quality dining experiences at fair prices in a comfortable environment, fostering gatherings of family and friends.

This closure marks the end of an era for the restaurant, as the Mass Ave. location was the last remaining one. Previously, Mimi Blue Restaurant confirmed the closure of its spot inside The Fashion Mall at Keystone on June 23 of the previous year.

After a successful decade of serving its famous meatballs and classic American dishes, the restaurant closed its doors on Wednesday.

The restaurant's property, situated at 870 Massachusetts Avenue, is now slated for sale.

The iconic Mimi Blue restaurant has announced its closure, ending a significant chapter for the Mimi Blue family. Renowned for being more than just a place to eat, the restaurant was a hub for creating lasting memories and a tribute to the life and legacy of its matriarch, Mimi "Blue" Kosene.

The restaurant's team expressed profound gratitude to their patrons in a heartfelt statement. "Your support has been invaluable, and it was our honor to be a part of your special moments," they said, reflecting on their deep connection with the community.

As they prepare to close their doors, Mimi Blue also took the opportunity to underscore the importance of supporting local businesses, which are the backbone of the local economy.

In a final gesture of goodwill, the restaurant has initiated a refund program for gift cards purchased after October 1, 2023.

This program will remain active until March 30, 2024. Customers wishing to get a refund are advised to contact the restaurant via email, providing a photo of their gift card number and their name and mailing address.

This month brought news of another closure in the local dining scene. Rooster's Kitchen, a popular eatery on the same block as Mimi Blue on Mass Ave, officially ceased operations on December 31.

Amid these changes, the proprietors of Mimi Blue are emphasizing the value of community support for local businesses. "Your patronage has been tremendously appreciated. It's been a privilege to be a part of your lives, just as you have been a vital part of ours," their statement highlighted.

Interestingly, the announcement from Mimi Blue did not specify a closing date for the restaurant.
