You can take a woman out of the Bronx but you can't the Bronx out of a woman.

At least that's what happened during Jennifer Lopez' car accident last Saturday.

The 'Booty' singer posted a photo of herself and her best friend Leah Remini in a car as she talked about the traumatic experience she and her family went through that day.

"Sitting at a light, riding high right before some drunk fool rear ended us in my new whip!!!" the 'American Idol' judge said on Instagram. "Thank god everyone ok!!! #GRATEFUL #THANKYOUGOD #DontdrinkandDrive!!!! #cursedthatfoolout #theBronxcameout #dontmesswithmycocnuts #mamabear #leahstayedcalm #thatwasweird."

44-year-old Remini was driving JLo's new SUV on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, California when an alleged drunk driver drove into them. They were stopped at a red light when the accident happened.

According to E! Online, Lopez' six-year-old twins, Max and Emme, were seated in the backseat while the pop star sat in front. All of them got out of the car to talk about the situation. However, when they were exchanging information, the driver of the pickup truck suddenly got in his car and drove away.

TMZ reported that he was later arrested and determined to have been drunk while driving. He will be facing hit-and-run and DUI charges.

Jennifer Lopez' car accident had put a dent on her day of fun with her kids and best friend. Thankfully, no one got hurt.

Earlier that day, she boasted of her time with the twins with several photos on Instagram. She uploaded a photo of her kids with Remini's daughter, Sophia, as well as a video of Max jamming to Drake's '0 to 100.'

JLo will be rejoining Harry Connick, Jr. and Keith Urban on the judge's table for 'American Idol' season 14 early next year. They recently filmed the New York leg of the show's audition tour with Adam Lambert filling in for Keith Urban. The latter had to keep his wife, Nicole Kidman, company in Australia during her father's funeral.
