Anne Hathaway talks about her husband Adam Shulman saying she knew he was the one for her and she knew she needed to change herself for him.

According to an interview with Elle magazine, Anne Hathaway said, "I'd always been really consumed with the idea of light and dark, which kept me in a very exhausting place for a long time because things were either so positive, or they were the absolute pits of despair." The actress added that, "It was one of my pits-of-despair moments, and I was just being an outright b***h, and I looked at him and I thought, 'He didn't do anything to deserve this.' And then I thought, 'Oh my God, if I'm gonna be with this guy, I have to be better. I have to be worthy of him.'"

In late 2008, Anne Hathaway began dating actor Adam Shulman. They became engaged in November 2011 and got married on September 2012 in California with an interfaith Jewish and Roman Catholic service.

The marriage has made Hathaway think about what is important in her life. Her age, 31, has also become a factor on how she views her career and time at home. Hathaway reveals that she has spent too much time worrying about insignificant issues.

The Les Miserables actress also revealed, "The thing I've learned this past year is to chill out. I think when you're young and struggling to find yourself, there's something alluring about the idea of being tortured." The actress continued, "But I've realized that I enjoy simplicity. So life for me these days is a lot about letting the unknown be wonderful and letting myself feel safe."

Anne Jacqueline Hathaway is an American actress who came into prominence when she played Mia Thermopolis in The Disney film Princess Diaries last 2001 and 2004 sequel.
