Joel Osteen News, Update: Megachurch pastors Joel and Victoria Osteen recently launched their new radio show on the satellite radio SiriusXM. They hope to bring inspirational messages reaching to an entirely new audience which will also showcase a completely different side of them.
Channel 128 Joel Osteen Radio had its inauguration last Monday at the Sirius' New York City headquarters with no less than the power couple. They got to answer questions from among the audience, even took calls from some of their celebrity friends such as Donald Trump and Oprah Winfrey, as well as previewed the faith-based content that will appear on the 24/7 station.
Their channel will feature archive of Joel's sermons and other prepared messages and events, broadcast of the weekly live services from Lakewood Church, and will also include a component that has never been done before by the couple, which is an exclusive weekly call-in shows that will allow their listeners to directly interact with them, having candid conversations about faith, family, sports and whatever else their listeners want to chat about.
During their sit-down interview last Monday, Joel mentioned "It's nice that it's a different side of us, because most of our stuff is very prepared. I hope that they'll get a chance to see just that we're real and that there's humor and fun." Victoria also said "It's a stretch for us. It's something that we haven't done before and I hope it says something to show people that we are real." Meanwhile, SiriusXM's President and Chief Content Officer Scott Greenstein remarked "The Osteen's new channel will deliver their message across the country, reaching listeners at a time in our world when inspiration is especially needed." He added, "...the depth of programming on the channel will be remarkable."
Joel Osteen's talk show premieres on October 6 at 5pm EST, which airs every Monday. His program will focus on advice and encouragement for leading a fuller life. Meanwhile, Victoria Osteen begins her show on October 8 at 12pm EST, sharing her perspective on faith and family, as well as talking with special guests.
