BB King Tour Cut Short; Blues Legend Diagnosed With Dehydration And Exhaustion

BB King's tour has been cut short after the blues guitarist was diagnosed with exhaustion and dehydration.

According to reports, falling ill at the Chicago leg of the BB King tour prompted the legendary bluesman and his team to cancel his eight remaining shows in the US.

King reportedly fell ill during a performance at the House of Blues in Chicago on Friday and was immediately evaluated. According to a statement issued on the guitarist's official website and Facebook account, "He was immediately evaluted by a doctor and was diagnosed with dehydration and suffering from exhaustion whereby causing the eight remaining shows of his current tour to be cancelled."

The shows that were cancelled include a stop at the guitarist's own B.B. King Blues Club and Grill in New York slated on October 12 and 13.

Previous schedules and details about the tour posted on his website had also already been removed.

Earlier this year, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer issued an apology to his fans for an erratic performance at the Peabody Opera House in St. Louis. According to a report from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, some members of the audience catcalled the guitarist and others walked out.

King, who has been s from Type II diabetes for two decades now, issued a statement via his representatives, saying "Mr. King suffers from diabetes - and he mistakenly missed a does of his prescribed medication on the show day. Simply put, it was a bad night for one of America's living blues legends and Mr. King apologizes and humbly asks for understanding of his fans."

Hamish Anderson, guitarist of the opening act for the BB King tour, took to Twitter to share his thoughts about the incident, saying: "Very sasd to hear the news of BB King's sickness and subsequent cancellation of the tour. The band and I wish him a safe speedy recovery!"
