After 18 months of delay, the animation giant Pixar, revealed that their next film, 'The Good Dinosaur' will now be released on Winter 2015!
Star John Lithgow has revealed that having already done the entire voice work for the movie, the studio have since significantly rattled with the script and the dialogue.
"I recorded the entire role in Good Dinosaur. They have now dismantled it and completely reimagined it, and it is a fantastic new story. So I'm gonna record again on it within the next month. Don't worry. It's coming and it's gonna be better than I ever imagined."
As The Good Dinosaur's former director, Bob Peterson has been removed from the movie with only nine months to go before release, Pixar's president Ed Catmull explained that the studio hadn't been happy with the creative progress of the film.
"Nobody ever remembers the fact that you slipped a film, but they will remember a bad film. Our conclusion was that we were going to give the [dinosaur] film some more time."
He then gave an official statement:
"All directors get really deep in their films. Sometimes you just need a different perspective to get the idea out. Sometimes directors... are so deeply embedded in their ideas it actually takes someone else to finish it up. I would go so far as to argue that a lot of live-action films would be better off with that same process."
This is not the first time Pixar have fired a film's director. In 2005, Jan Pinkava was replaced by Brad Bird as director of Ratatouille, fresh from his success with The Incredibles. Then, Brenda Chapman was fired from that film Brave in 2009 after working on the picture for six years.
Pixar confirmed that the 'The Good Dinosaur' is directed by Peter Sohn and leaded by casts, John Lithgow and Frances McDormand. At the Disney Convention D23 Expo in August the film's premise was revealed: a counter-factual earth.
Far from becoming extinct, the dinosaurs have watched the asteroid sail harmlessly by, while they devote themselves to millennia of farming. The film is a humorous and exciting original story about Arlo, a lively 70-foot-tall teenage Apatosaurus with a big heart. After a traumatic event rattles Arlo''s tranquil community, he sets out on a quest to restore peace, gaining an unlikely companion along the way -a young human boy named Spot.
'The Good Dinosaur' will be released in cinemas in the US on 25 November 2015, and on 4 December in the UK.
