Xiaomi's official twitter handle for India @MiIndiaofficial has posted a teaser on Wednesday, October 8, of what seemed to be a launching of their new flagship product Mi4. The post read "Tomorrow. =) Help RT?" showing a blurred Diwali greeting photo. The traditional Indian "diya," a mud-based oil lamp, was also included in the post symbolizing the Deepavali season that's currently being celebrated in the country.

It later on revealed an offer in line with India's Diwali Festival, called "Share the Light" campaign, which takes effect until midnight of October 17. The campaign aims users to share the "light" on Facebook, which will get them a chance to win a different prize each day including Redmi 1S smartphones.

China's tech giant has recently announced its three Xiaomi Mi phones, that includes the Mi4, in New Delhi last July 15 but is yet to reveal the official release date. The company has definitely unearthed their niche market as they gain more customers wanting to get hold of their products. Interestingly, their range of smart phones are more widely popular in India than other markets they have tapped so far.

The latest Xiaomi flagship smartphone has the following specs:

> 5" IPS 1080p capacitive touchscreen of 441ppi Android 4.4.3 KitKat with MIUI v.5, upgradable to MIUI v.6

> 2.5GHz quad-core Krait 400 CPU; 3GB of RAM; Adreno 330 GPU; Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset

> 13MP camera, f/1.8 aperture, LED flash, 4K video capture, HDR video, 1080p@30fps, 720p@120fps

> 8MP front-facing camera; 1080p video recording

> 16/64 GB of built-in memory

> Active noise cancellation with a dedicated microphone

> 3,080mAh battery

Speculations are now being made that the new flagship model will be released in India before the year ends, as it is still awaiting regulatory approval. The Mi4 also needs to be compatible with India's network specifications so the device's hardware and antenna calibrations need adjustment as well. Xiaomi is currently making the necessary arrangements to make their latest product pass certifications.
