Lana del Rey has been one of the most talked about singer over the past weeks, but not in a positive way. First, there's Eminem's freestyle rap wherein he said that he wanted to punch the Born to Die singer. Then, there's the alleged Marilyn Manson music video which has clips featuring her being raped by director Eli Roth.

Those are some intense controversy that had her named dragged but the singer seems to be unfazed. Lana del Rey Ultraviolence album is doing great and the Maxim December/January edition where she is the cover is about to be released.

Lana del Rey's Ultraviolence album was released on June of this year and it surprised her fans for the new color of her hair. In her Maxim appearance, she talked about it and said that he hair color does not signify anything but insisted it seems to have changed the way people see her music.

"When I went darker with my hair, I don't know why, but people took my music more seriously. There's a lot to be said for pretending, you know?' she tells the magazine," Lana del Rey explained.

As for her craft, the 29-year old singer said that she is not changing career path and that she is just continuing what she started.

"For me, there really wasn't reinvention. That is more the other people's reinterpretation. I feel so much continuity between all my music and all the videos."

Lana del Rey's Ultraviolence album has 11 songs with singles West Coast, Shades of Cool and Brooklyn Baby.

She didn't talk about that rape clips, but probably because it hasn't come out before the photo shoot with Maxim happened. Meanwhile, the other party involved in the video finally addressed the allegations.

"Manson did not direct this, shoot it, nor was it for a Marilyn Manson video or outtake footage made by him or to be used by him with his music," Marilyn Manson's spokeswoman, Kathryn Frazier, said. "It must be a fan video splicing up old Manson video footage with someone else's Lana Del Rey footage."
