What Happened To Ryan Reynolds’ Face In ‘Deadpool?' Blake Lively’s Husband Is Covered In Scars! ‘What You See Is What You Get In The Comics’

Many fans were shocked when they saw Ryan Reynolds' disfigured face on the set of "Deadpool."

The makeup team did a really good job of transforming the 38-year-old actor's face in the upcoming Marvel movie.

E! Online shared a close-up photo of Blake Lively's husband and it seems that his face was scarred and burnt. According to the website, he tried to cover his face with a hooded jacket but we can still see his scary makeup.

A few days ago, Ryan's Instagram fan page shared photos of the lead star without his mask on while filming.

"I don't want to spoil anything so I won't post too many set pictures, but this is Ryan unmasked on Wednesday (April 8) in Vancouver, Canada," they captioned his photo.

The Hollywood hunk's face wasn't disfigured back then so his character, Wade Wilson, must have gotten sick or into an accident in the movie. A few years ago, Ryan Reynolds revealed some "Deadpool" spoilers during an interview with Hitfix (via E! Online).

"I'm gonna have a messed up face and you may see some flashbacks of Wade earlier in his life," he admitted. "But primarily what you see is what you get in the comics and that's the goal."

According to Marvel Wikia, Wade Wilson broke up with Vanessa Carlysle when he found out that he has cancer. He does not want to prolong his sickness that's why he decided to give up his chemo treatments. After joining Wolverine in the Department K, his cancer was temporarily arrested because of the mutant's healing factor that was implanted in him.

The website also revealed that the cancer, in a sense, is his healing factor. That explains the horrible scars on his skin because his healing factor is mentally driven unlike Wolverine who can heal physically. Just recently, new set photos of Ryan Reynolds surfaced on Instagram and his face is gorgeous again. Find out what really happened to Wade Wilson when "Deadpool" hits the theaters on Feb. 12, 2016.
