Nicki Minaj Slams Critics Saying She Had To ‘Buy An A**’ Just To Become Famous; 'Anaconda' Rapper Rants On Twitter

Nicki Minaj may be famous for her derriere, as shown in her "Anaconda" video, but it is not the sole reason why she is one of the few successful women rappers in Hollywood today.

The 33-year-old rap artist, who recently won the Favorite Hip-Hop Album Award at the American Music Awards, recently slammed a hater on Twitter, saying that Minaj had to "buy" her way into fame.

"Yep, men are visual creatures they don't care if you can sing ... That's why Nicki had to buy an a** to blow up! #Fact," a Twitter user commented.

The comment was found on a conversation started by a gossip website, about the lack of female rappers, according to People Magazine.

Apparently, the conversation was brought to Nicki Minaj's attention and the "Anaconda" rapper wasted no time on shooting the hateful comment down.

"To imply someone's ass is the reason they get on tracks and hold their own with every great MC who is still alive black ppl, do better lol," Minaj responded.

"I've gone toe to toe w/everyone of your favorite male MC's. To undermine my skill & diversity as an MC is actually comical @ this point," she added. "If a male rapper was on tracks w/Wayne, Jay, Eminem, Kanye, etc going ROUND 4 ROUND he'd b hailed as a GREAT as well. Jealousy is a disease." "Not giving me my props doesn't stop me from being great. I am a mogul," Minaj replied. "Your hate is what made this possible. Lol. Thank uuuuuu! Mmuuaahhh!!!,"

Nicki Minaj also called out Bossip, the gossip website that started the Twitter conversation.

"I saw Bossip retweeting ignorance so I figured I'd put that out there. Lol. The greats give me my respect. The great journalists as well," Minaj wrote. "Your greatest achievement in life will be attempting to undermine my greatest achievements in life. lol. Now check that. Phaedra voice."

Bossip, however, was unapologetic about the whole Twitter ordeal.

"Somehow our extremely general question about women rappers has turned into a very specific @NICKIMINAJ conversation. Gotta love this app," Bossip wrote on Twitter.
