Former employees and customers share their heartfelt memories of Outback Steakhouse following the news of its closure in Hawaii. "There was a time I used to work there! But honestly, overall, I do have an appreciation for the time I was working there. Rip OB," a former staff member reflected.

The closure has also stirred emotional recollections among patrons. "When my dad was alive, he loved it when we took him to Outback Kapolei. So many good memories," shared another.

The sentiment of loss is widespread, with one customer lamenting, "No, it was my go-to restaurant for my birthdays."

The announcement's impact is evident on online platforms like Reddit, where numerous people comment and share their experiences and sadness over the end of Outback Steakhouse's presence in Hawaii.

As the longtime restaurant chain Outback Steakhouse closes two key locations after 22 years, customers express deep disappointment and concern for the staff. The closure has led to many comments, with many customers feeling sorry for the employees who suddenly found themselves without jobs. "They should have quit working right when they found out that morning," one person commented, highlighting the abrupt nature of the closure.

The Australian-themed Outback Steakhouse closed its restaurants in Kapolei, Waipahu, and Kailua-Kona on February 18, as local ABC affiliate KITV reported.

Sheryl Matsuoka, the executive director of the Hawaii Restaurant Association, confirmed this surprising closure, according to Fox affiliate KHON-TV. "The Outback brand has decided to pull out of Hawaii, and, unfortunately, the three locations will close up," Matsuoka stated.

She explained the challenges faced by the restaurant industry: "It's just very challenging to keep the restaurant doors open with all the rising costs happening. Restaurants try to stay in business, but the margins are small.

So, when there's an increase in the cost of food and utilities, and with minimum wage going up, it's hard to stay in business."
