Customers at Dunkin' were left disappointed when one of the chain's most sought-after drinks ran out of stock.

Jason Spears, a regular visitor, expressed his frustration on social media when he could not purchase his preferred beverage.

Customers at Dunkin' are also grappling with another significant issue, adding to their frustration.

Dunkin' Faces Criticism Over Decaf Coffee Shortage

In a recent post on X, previously known as Twitter, customer Jason Spears expressed his dissatisfaction with Dunkin'.

Spears (@jasonspears) questioned the coffee chain, "Dunkin' Donuts, how is it that I go to your store and they don't have decaffeinated coffee?" He added that not having basic coffee options defeats the purpose of a coffee shop.

Responding to the complaint, Dunkin' apologized and requested Spears to send them a private message to address and resolve the issue.

In addition to the recent shortages, Dunkin' faces another challenge as numerous customers have raised concerns about the quality of their cup lids. Over the past few years, there have been multiple reports of lids not fitting properly or popping off unexpectedly, leading to potential accidents.

One customer recently highlighted this issue vividly. They shared a distressing photo showing the aftermath of a severe burn caused by a coffee spill when their Dunkin' cup lid came off.

The customer's frustration was evident in their message: "How many people have issues with Dunkin' coffee cups? I swear my lids never stay on," they said. The photo, taken three days post-incident, shows the extent of their injury due to the faulty cup.

The customer also compared Dunkin's cups unfavorably with those from other popular coffee chains. "The picture is three days after I burnt myself from a faulty cup. Never an issue with Panera or Starbucks cups. They gotta fix their cups," they emphasized, calling for Dunkin' to address this recurring problem.

Meanwhile, Dunkin' isn't the only one facing challenges. Starbucks has recently made headlines for problems with its drink lids. In January 2023, concerns emerged about the fit and functionality of Starbucks' lids.

Based on interviews with five employees from different states, an Insider report sheds light on the issue. These workers have encountered lids that don't fit properly, leading to many problems. Spilled drinks, slower service, and negative customer experiences are consequences of these ill-fitting lids.

The problem appears widespread, affecting various types of lids the coffee giant uses. Employees report difficulties with both hot and cold drink lids. Even the domed lids used for Frappuccinos, designed to accommodate a topping of whipped cream, are problematic.

The impact of these faulty lids is tangible. A Starbucks manager in Virginia shared a particularly troubling incident. "There have been times I've tried to put a lid on a Frappuccino and just had the whole cup collapse and spilled the drink all over my hands and the counter, while the customer who had ordered the drink was watching," they told Insider.

This experience underscores the broader challenges Starbucks faces in maintaining quality and efficiency in its service.
