Taco Bell is stirring up excitement with three new fruity drinks. The fast food giant is experimenting with a fresh line of sweet beverages. These drinks are made from green tea and mixed with real fruit pieces.

Taco Bell Tests New 'Agua Refrescas' Beverages

Earlier this year, the Taco Bell Live Más event introduced a wave of new menu items, thrilling fans. Taco Bell is now expanding its offerings with a new beverage line called Agua Refrescas. These drinks are being tested in Southern California for a five-week trial period.

The Agua Refrescas features a vibrant green tea base, enriched with swirls of fruit flavors and blended with real freeze-dried fruit pieces. The flavors available include Strawberry Passionfruit, Peach Mango, and Dragonfruit Berry, reminiscent of Starbucks' popular Refreshers. However, Taco Bell's drinks are priced competitively at $3.99 for a 16-ounce serving, a notch below Starbucks' pricing.

For a limited time, these drinks can be sampled at 2222 Barranca Parkway in Irvine, California. While it is still uncertain whether the Agua Refrescas will become a permanent fixture nationwide, Taco Bell continues to broaden its drink menu. The lineup includes the returning Dragonfruit Freeze and the newly launched Horchata Cold Brew Latte.

These additions offer a refreshing twist for Taco Bell patrons and might be the new favorites alongside the timeless Baja Blast. As Taco Bell continues to unveil more items promised during the February event, customers can enjoy these enticing new options.

Taco Bell's drink menu is getting a fresh update with the return of the Dragonfruit Freeze and the introduction of a new Horchata Cold Brew Latte. These additions might change how customers order their favorite beverages, moving beyond the classic Baja Blast.

While the Baja Blast remains a beloved choice for many, these new offerings provide exciting alternatives that could become new favorites.

As Taco Bell fans eagerly await the rest of the menu items announced in February, introducing new drinks adds a bit of variety and excitement to the mix. Whether sticking with the old favorite or trying something new, Taco Bell's expanded menu offers something for everyone.

Taco Bell's Chief Marketing Officer expressed the company's ambition: "We want to make our beverages just as iconic as our food."

Montgomery described the new Agua Refrescas as "a perfect, vibrant pairing with everything our fans crave from Taco Bell" and believes these drinks will help establish Taco Bell as a top destination for both food and beverages.

The company aims to attract customers with these colorful, new options on its drink menu.

Not all Taco Bell patrons are thrilled with the chain's new Agua Refrescas. A social media post from the food review account Snackolater featured a Facebook user comparing the drinks to a popular Starbucks product.

"They're just like the Starbucks drinks," the user commented, dubbing the new offerings a "Starbucks dupe."

The comparison was to Starbucks' lineup of refresher beverages, which includes flavors such as Strawberry Acai, Pineapple Passionfruit, and Dragon Drink. These beverages are typically priced just under $5 for a grande size.

It remains uncertain if Taco Bell introduced the Agua Refrescas to compete directly with Starbucks. The company has yet to respond to inquiries for comments.

Despite the criticisms, a Taco Bell executive emphasized that the Agua Refrescas are designed to complement the food, satisfying the diverse cravings of their customers.
