In line with India's Deepavali Festival or the Festival of Lights, Xiaomi is having their 7th flash sale of the Redmi 1S Tuesday, following its successful 6th flash sale a couple of weeks ago, and Xiaomi's Big Billion Day Sale.

Redmi 1S has become one of the top-seller smartphones in India because of its budget-friendly price and specs that you can find among high-end phones. Xiaomi has announced that they will be going to release a total of 100,000 units for this Tuesday's flash sale, but the company recently confirmed via their Facebook page for Indian market that they can only sell 90,000 units due to "unexpected international shipping issues."

It was also last week that the Chinese tech giant has announced the OTA (over-the-air) roll-out system update for the said device to fix issues such as bugs, UI lag, and thermal control algorithms (read: Chinese Tech Giant Company Xiaomi Faces Issues With Mobile Phone Model Redmi 1S).

Known for its online marketing and sales strategy, Xiaomi held a contest among its fans last week wherein they were asked to send jokes using the word "Mi" in the phrase. They would then look for the lucky 40 winners from the valid entries, who would get priority passes for the Redmi 1S 7th flash sale.

The smartphone is priced at USD100 (£60; Rs5,999), and for that it already has great features that include 4.7in IPS display, runs on the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating platform, and is powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor along with a 1GB RAM. Redmi 1S also showcases an 8MP primary camera and a 1.6MP secondary camera. The device also provides users of an 8GB internal storage which is expandable up to 32GB via an external microSD card. Moreover, A 2,000 mAh battery powers the entire Xiaomi Redmi 1S smartphone.
