Gotham TV Series Spoiler News: Harley Quinn May Not Be Coming Yet But Show Has Listed New Characters That Batman Fans Will Love

Nov 20, 2014 05:34 AM EST | By Rolly Gacelo

Aside from the Joker, another main Batman character that people are raring to see in Gotham TV series is Harley Quinn. In fact, in the earlier episodes of the new Fox show, there were theories that some minor characters that appeared are actually Easter Eggs about the Joker's loyal apprentice.

In the pilot episode of the Fox show that stars Ben McKenzie and David Mazouz, Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith) has some dancers performing in the stage. These girls were wearing the trademark colors of Harley Quinn, a red and black costume. This has led fans of Gotham TV series to believe that the Joker and Harley Quinn will be seen in the show.

Showrunner Bruno Heller finally made a statement to end these kinds of theories. And it is not something that fans might not like. The sexy psychopath Harley Quinn will not appear anytime soon in Gotham City.

"One of the things about the size and scope and ambitious of this production is that-it's not that there's lots of chefs in the kitchen, but there's a lot of people with opinions and views and inside knowledge," Heller started during an interview with the Entertainment Weekly.

"That aspect of the show-which characters to use and when - is a source of constant discussion. And that may well have been an issue that came up and was dropped. We haven't got Harley Quinn in it. Riddler's girlfriend is coming up. And Harley Quinn is definitely planned for later on, but so far no."

Well, sorry Harley Quinn fans. But at least, there's a greater sign that Gotham TV series will come back for second season.

Although Harley Quinn might not arrive anytime soon, there are new characters that will join the show.

On the same interview, the Gotham showrunner said that the roots of Batman's sidekick, Robin will be introduced.

"We're going to do a prenatal origin story for Robin down the line," Heller tells EW.

."There are no MRIs involved," Heller assures. "There's an episode coming up where we learn how Robin's parents got together."
