Have you ever wondered what it would be like if Tom Cruise becomes the new Batman?
A new video surfaced online and it featured a lookalike of the actor auditioning for the role of the cape crusader. The parody was uploaded by Sam Marconi on YouTube and you can see the actor hilariously fail his audition.
"Before Ben Affleck was cast as Batman, Tom Cruise was the studio's first choice. The following is footage from the Tom Cruise failed screen test," Marconi described the video. British film director Christopher Nolan and actor Christian Bale walked away from the film franchise after three successful movies. The 41-year old actor starred as Bruce Wayne in "Batman Begins" in 2005, "The Dark Knight" in 2008, and "The Dark Knight Rises" in 2012.
Most people thought that Warner Bros. will get them back for another movie, but that wasn't the case. They decided to get a new actor and director to work on "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice", which will is scheduled for release in 2016. Zack Snyder was asked to direct the new Batman movie while Ben Affleck stars as Bruce Wayne since the spoofed Tom Cruise didn't pass the audition.
I wonder how Christian Bale feels about giving the role up to another actor. "I think it's the right decision," he told Esquire. "People were talking about this obscene amount of money they were saying was thrown at me. No. I didn't have a single conversation with anybody about ever playing the role again," he added.
The star of "Exodus: Gods and Kings" also admitted that he is getting too old to play Batman. "I've done a lot of them: Batman... I'm sick of that. Man, I'm sick of that! You've done it 100 times and you're just getting slower and slower, and sloppier and people are really starting to punch you," Bale said.
