There have been reports that two more female stars will be joining the cast of "Independence Day 2."

According to Coming Soon, Vivica A. Fox will reprise her role Jasmine Dubrow in the upcoming sequel. The announcement was made by Roland Emmerich on Twitter and he even posted a photo of himself together with the actress.

"Exciting news... just officially closed @MsVivicaFox for #IndependenceDay!" the director wrote.

Apart from the 50-year-old actress, Charlotte Gainsbourg will also star in the science fiction sequel. The Cesar Award-winner gained recognition for her roles in controversial French films such as "Melancholia," "Antichrist" and "Nymphomaniac".

According to The Guardian, her role remains unknown so we aren't sure yet if Gainsbourg will be a friend or an enemy. The two actresses are all set to join the star-studded cast of "Independence Day 2" which included Liam Hemsworth, Jeff Goldblum, and Jessie Usher.

The 25-year-old actor may be new in the sequel but there have been reports that he will play the son-in-law of Bill Pullman's character President James Whitmore, while the veteran actor will reprise his role as David Levinson.

Newcomer Jessie Usher, on the other hand, will reportedly star as Dylan Hiller who is the son of Captain Steven Hiller. That was Will Smith's character in the 1996 science fiction movie.

Will Bill Pullman be part of the sequel too? During a Q & A with Movies.com, Roland Emmerich hinted that the 61-year-old actor will be back in the new movie. When asked about returning characters, he said that Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman are already on board.

More "Independence Day 2" cast members are being revealed, but one person that most fans wanted to see is Will Smith. Unfortunately, the former lead star isn't interested in returning in the sequel.
