[PHOTOS] Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Leaks: No S-Pen Stylus Auto-Eject; USB Type-C, Gold Color Seen

Fresh Samsung Galaxy Note 5 leaks point to a manually-ejecting S-Pen stylus for the upcoming phablet, among other features.

The leaks were posted by French website NowhereElse.fr and picked up by Pocket-lint.

"The front shot reveals a gold-colored metal casing, although much of that appears unfinished as this is reportedly a prototype model. That edge-to-edge display looks near bezel-free [on] the sides."

Last month, Franchise Herald reported that the Note 5's S-Pen stylus may get a voice or gesture-activated auto-eject feature. But as the website noted, this won't be the case.

"There is clearly a space for a fingernail to remove the stylus manually."

According to Korean website DDaily via iDigitalTimes, Samsung opted to keep the Note's push-to-eject mechanism because combining auto-eject with a non-removable back "would have been difficult."

The photos also show the upcoming phablet ditching microUSB in favor of a USB Type-C port. On its sides, a speaker grill and a 3.5mm audio jack can be seen.

BGR also noted how these Samsung Galaxy Note 5 leaks are in-line with earlier ones that showcased its design.

Other expected Galaxy Note 5 specs include an Exynos 7422 chip, 4GB of RAM and a 5.89-inch 2K display. Internal storage options include 32GB, 64GB and 128GB models.

Camera upgrades will reportedly include the Galaxy S6's 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. The device is also expected to come with Samsung Pay on board when it launches.

Rumors suggest the Note 5 will be launched with together with the Galaxy S6 Edge+. Traditionally unveiled at Berlin's IFA 2015, the Gear A smartwatch may also launch with both handsets as well.

Unconfirmed reports claimed Samsung has moved up the launch of the Note 4's successor to August 12 in anticipation of competition from Apple's new iPhones.

Pocket-lint said it's "likely" the reason why Samsung Galaxy Note 5 leaks are already being seen.
