'Rock Band 4' PS4 Release Date Expected To Come This Year! Harmonix Asking Song Requests From Fans; 'We Need To Bring Something New'

The long wait is finally over, "Rock Band 4" release date for the PS4 could come anytime this year.

Harmonix, is now asking fans for song requests that could be inlcuded in the game's tracks.

The game developer posted a voting poll on their website to give everyone a chance to request for songs that they would want to play in the guitar or drums, songs that they could also sing along to.

In an exclusive interview with IGN, Harmonix COO alex Rigopulos said that the company is working hard to offer what the gamers want to experience from "Rock Band 4." However he inisted that the gaming studio is not at all planning on changing the gameplay for the title.

"There is an existing gameplay core that is very powerful and very fun, and we don't want to tamper with that core," the co-founder said. "At the same time, we need to bring something new to the experience."

In addition, Harmonix announced that the previous intruments used from the past games can is also compatible with the new "Rock Band 4" come its release date, noting that the company is aiming to give the gamers the same feel with a twist in the gaming experience.

"None of the games in the genre really delivered a lot of innovation, or maybe the right kind of innovation in the experience during that period," Rigopulos said. "Consumers want something new. We view it as a responsibility to deliver that innovation this time around."

"Harmonix is working tirelessly to ensure that gamers can make use of legacy music and DLC that they purchased last time around and so [too], we are doing all we can to try and make last-gen hardware compatible with Rock Band 4."

While "Rock Band 4" has no official release date yet, it is expected to hit the shelves sometime this year following the developments of the game.
