Motorola's Moto G smartphone sales in the United Kingdom has helped increase company shares six percent from none at all.

Data shows the $135 phone has been popular among consumers 16 to 24 years-old The Telegraph reported Monday.

According to The Telegraph, eighty-three percent of the users were male, and from the lesser end of the pay scale. Forty percent of whom made $20,000 pounds annually

"Motorola was nowhere in Europe before the Moto G launched in November last year, but the new model has since boosted the manufacturer to six per cent of British sales," Dominic Sunnebo, strategic insight director at Kantar Worldpanel ComTec told The Telegraph.

"It highlights the speed at which a quality budget phone can disrupt a market. The same pattern can be seen in France with Wiko, which has 8.3 per cent share, and Xiaomi in China with 18.5 per cent," Sunnebo told The Telegraph.

The smartphone has a five mega-pixel rear camera, a quad core 1.2 gigahertz processor,a 450 milli hertz graphics processor, 4.5 inch display 720p HD TFT display, and works with AT&T according to information on gsmarena.com.

The device's 8 gigabyte version costs a minimum $179.99 in the United States, with the 16 gigabyte model is priced at $199.99.

Both models do not have have a customization maker like its counterpart the Moto X does, but consumers can swap out the back cover for a selection of colors, and different designs The Verge reported. The device is only available in the company's GSM format and accessible on Motorola corn, or food recipe program. The company made the phone in China, Brazil, and Argentina.

Motorola  listed  information about the new Moto G on its website last when via a section entitled "Moto G", prior to its November release. The feature was taken off when other blogs such as Droid Life posted information about it.

This came three months after the company released its Moto X smartphone, considered to be the company's biggest release since it completed a deal with Google.

Motorola held a launch event in San Paulo, Brasil Nov. 13 for the Moto Gs  official release.
