Sony's PlayStation 4 game console is in the record books again with seven million machines sold.

According to News24, the number is reportedly more than Microsoft's Xbox one game console which tallied 3.9 million machines sold.

The number increased to over four million in March because the fighting game Titanfall hit the market in conjunction with Twitch's live video streaming capability service.

"The response from the global gaming community for PS4 (PlayStation 4) has been overwhelming and we are truly humbled that gamers are selecting PS4 as their next generation console of choice," Andrew House, president and group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment said in a statement News24 reported.

"The PS4 journey has just begun, and although we are still facing difficulties keeping up with the strong demand worldwide, we remain steadfast in our commitment to meet the needs of our customers," House said in the statement.

The PlayStation4 has eight x86 CPU-codes titled Jaguar, and is manufactured from Advanced Micro Devices according to Network World. It also comes equipped with upgraded graphics co-processors capable of handling 1.84 teraflops of performance according to information from Tech Hive.

The machine has 500 gigabyte hard drive that can play blu-ray DVDs. There are also eight gigabytes of GDDR5 memory or quick network speed random access memory found in graphics cards. Game makers put 176 gigabytes of network speed a second on the machine since they wanted the computer to run faster.

The Xbox One has an improved kinect sensor, which enables players to operate the device just by talking. Individuals can also connect the console to their satellite television equipment in order to watch TV, and flip back and forth between gaming, and viewing shows USA Today reported. The Xbox 360 can also do the same.

Xbox One will soon be in Belgium, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland,. Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, India, Israel, Japan, South Korea, Poland, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovakia, South Africa, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates Zeenews reported.
