Samsung announced Wednesday that they'll be releasing this week the anticipated large-screen Samsung Galaxy Note 4 in South Korea and China, a few weeks earlier than the planned October 17 worldwide launch.

It's the first time for the South Korean company to enter the Chinese markets ahead of other countries. Analysts believe that the company plans to infiltrate the market before Apple releases its iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The latest line of smartphones from the American company has yet to reach China. The new smartphone model has already raked in 10 million sales in just a week.

The announcement said that all three mobile providers in Korea will release the flagship smartphone on Friday, and all three Chinese mobile carriers will launch the latest Samsung smartphone before the end of September.

The move is meant to combat to challenges posed by the smartphone brands released by China and India. Getting a head start on Apple in the most populous country in the world can give Samsung an edge. The latest gadgets from Apple feature a large screen, something considered as an asset by the Korean company.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 measures 5.7 inches diagonally, still bigger than Apple's widest large screen of 4.7 inches. The large screen feature is considered as an advantage by Samsung, and Apple learned to tap into the market who prefers bigger screen.

When Apple released their latest flagship models, Samsung uploaded in their Youtube account several videos mocking the iPhone 6's large screen. The Korean company went on to post on Twitter Steve Job's diss on large-screened smartphones.

"Other companies are releasing smartphones with 5-inch and 6-inch displays as well but no one can easily catch up to Samsung's big screen and the unique capability of the S Pen," Samsung president Lee Don-Joo said in an interview.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will be released in the U.S. in October 17.
