Images on Google Glass became clearer than before Tuesday when Layar launched an augmented reality app.

According to Gigaom.com, consumers can obtain the app from the company's website, and put it on their device to tell the device to view information.

"For nearly five years, Layar has invited developers, designers and creators to use our platform to explore the new medium of Augmented Reality," Maarten Lens-FitzGerald co-founder of Layar told the Wired. "With Google Glass, an important new tool has become available and we are very excited to be part of this amazing platform and explore together this new world of augmented reality," Lens-FitzGerald told the Wired.

The app is in test form, and can take pictures of images or other information in magazines, real estate around the area users are in, and previews to movies Gigaom reported.

"When we first got our hands on Google Glass last summer and installed Layar on it, we quickly realized that in order to provide a truly useful experience on Glass, we needed to radically rethink our UI and optimize our technology for this new platform," Dirk Groten chief technology officer at Layar said in a statement on the company's blog"We didn't just port Layar to Glass, but put in a tremendous amount of effort to create a dedicated app that feels like a first-class citizen on Glass. I believe we've created one of the most amazing apps I've seen to date on Glass," Groten said in the statement.

The connected eyewear already has many features from game playing to listening to music.

Users can play tennis, a balance game which tests their ability to keep books on their head, clay shooter similar to the infamous duck hunt game, Match which evaluates how well one pairs patches with similar patterns, and Shape Splitter where shapes are broken up information on the company's blog said.

Google Glass music capabilities allows users to look for songs, review playlists, and hear music files in good quality sound with the device on their head.

Google users can also send friend requests to three of their close acquaintances, and listen to music.
