Google Glass is being tested to determine if the device can be used to help people suffering from Parkinson’s disease. Newcastle University in the U.K. conducted a series of tests in which Parkinson’s sufferers volunteered to use the device to see if it can help them take care of certain symptoms and behaviors.
San Francisco-based startup Augmedix has raised $3.2 million to build a Google Glass app for doctors. The app will be designed to help doctors access electronic health records faster and easier, which will give doctors time to take care of their patients.
Google Glass is currently tested at Rhode Island Hospital in a study involving dermatology. Emergency room patients require a dermatology consult and consent in order to participate in the study for the next six months.
