All soda drinkers have experienced the inner conflict of choosing between Pepsi and Coca Cola.

However, when it comes to Pepsi VS Coca Cola, various major league sports associations have made their final decision.

Pepsi is taking over league sponsorship rights of the NBA from Coca Cola, according to CNBC. Coca Cola reportedly decided not to renew its global contract after nearly three decades.

“We remain fans of the NBA and have shared remarkable experiences during our 28-year partnership, however we have made the decision not to renew our global contract at the end of the 2014/2015 season,” said a Coca Cola spokeswoman in a statement.

“The Coca Cola Company has committed an incremental $1 billion towards its brands over the next three years, and with this commitment comes the need to focus on the most effective and efficient investments to maximize brand growth.”

Pepsi will reportedly be holding league sponsorship rights with the National Football League, Major League Baseball and National Hockey League, along with the new partnership with the NBA.

Coca Cola has signed a four-year deal to be the official sponsor of Major League Soccer, according to the website AJC.com. The company also reportedly has a contract with NASCAR.

Despite Coca Cola’s separation from the NBA, the company has vowed that it wouldn’t be cutting ties with the sport completely.

“The company will continue to have a strong presence within basketball culture through our relationships with iconic players. We will also continue to be visible through ongoing relationships with individual teams and venues,” read the statement from the company.
