Xiaomi is again getting ready for its 9th flash sale in India on November 4, and according to the brand's recent post on twitter, they are going to release 100,000 Redmi 1S units for the upcoming flash sale. Not only that, but they came up with 2 surprises for their Indian market. One, as shoppers go online to register, some lucky ones who were not able to purchase the gadget during the previous sales will have the chance to get one unit pre-added to their carts. Another thing, shoppers can get 10% discount on some of the Redmi 1S covers.
It has been reported that the 8th flash sale didn't have a great turnout as it took minutes before all 60,000 units of the top seller Redmi 1S were sold out. However, Xiaomi attributed it to the ongoing Diwali festive season at that time, wherein people spent their time traveling. The current top smartphone company in China has high hopes that this upcoming flash sale will be just like its previous ones, wherein the device will again sell in seconds.
It was not an easy month of October for the Chinese tech giant as it faced 2 major controversies involving their mid-range phone Redmi 1S. According to users, the device's temperature reaches up to 45-degrees Celsius when used continually. Also, some of its apps unexpectedly quit when the user is running multiple apps at the same time, as well as UI lag issues. These concerns were managed by the company by releasing an over-the-air system update (v45) for the Redmi 1S. As a result, the device now has an improved thermal control algorithm which will keep the temperature at 38-degrees Celsius under normal usage conditions. It now also has an improved RAM so that active multiple apps will still function. Moreover, the company has also made improvements on the performance of Redmi 1S's user interface to address UI lag concerns.
Another major issue that involved the Redmi 1S is its being a "security threat" since it has been sending out data without the user's permission to remote servers located in China. To assure its users in India, Xiaomi has announced that they have been transferring all corresponding data and services of their Indian market users, from Beijing data centers to Amazon AWS data centers in Singapore and USA.
Redmi 1S will still have the same price at Rs 5,999. The flash sale will be open at 2pm via Xiaomi's exclusive e-distributor, FlipKart.
