Superman Henry Cavill is venturing out to producing films! The Man of Steel lead actor has formed his very own production company named Promethean Productions as first reported by Deadline.com. According to Deadline, Cavill is in partnership with his brother Charlie Cavill and London-based producer Rex Glensy.
Furthermore, their newly built production company has already sealed the deal for an upcoming action-thriller movie entitled "Stratton," which they will co-produce with Amber Entertainment and GFM Films. It is the first of the eight-novel series written by Duncan Falconer. The movie, which is of course top billed by Henry Cavill himself, is about a man named John Stratton who is an "operative of the SBS who works with the Intelligence Detachment in Northern Ireland."
The movie series was originally handed to Amber Entertainment's producers Ileen Maisel and Lawrence Elman, which, they in turn brought to Cavill's production company. "We've known Ileen and Lawrence for many years and have come to understand their unique talent in finding and developing material," said Michael Ryan, GFM Films producer. "In optioning Duncan Falconer's series of books, they have unearthed a character that Henry Cavill can inhabit and run with for a truly thrilling franchise."
Cavill was equally excited for both starting up a production company and starring in yet another interesting movie to watch out for. "Having the opportunity to expand my horizons into filmmaking is incredibly exciting," the Immortals actor said. "Getting to work so closely with my brother in this venture is equally so."
Filming for Stratton begins in spring with locations in Kazakhstan, China, mainland Europe and London according to Deadline. The musical scoring will be done by the company Hothouse Music, who also did the scoring for The Hobbit and Les Miserables. Sounds really interesting and exciting!
In the meantime, Cavill is busy finishing Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice which is slated to hit theaters by March 25,2016. But before that, we will see Cavill in another Warner Bros. Film "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." scheduled on August 14,2015.
