Glee, which aired its first episode on May 9 2009, has had its ups and downs over the years with the decline in ratings, rumours of fall outs on set (and the tragic death of Cory Monteith who played the role of Lea's on and off screen boyfriend, Finn.
In fact, when Glee was at the height of its popularity, the cast went on tour around the US to perform for Glee! The Live Tour.
The decision to end the all singing, all dancing journey was confirmed last year with news following later that the final ever season would be cut down to 13 episodes.
Now, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that fans will be able to see their favourite characters return to the screen on January 9 2015.
The first episode will be two hours long and will start at 8pm. However, a week later and the season - which is currently being filmed - will air at 9pm.
A time jump has already been confirmed and the setting will predominantly be in Ohio at McKinley High School.
Familiar faces will also return as co-creator Ryan Murphy reached out a hand to any former cast member who was interested in coming back.
The Hollywood Reporter quoted Murphy saying: "It really [will be] a lovely, fitting season that ... dwells on the original people that were on the show and what happens to them and how they give back. That really is the last season. ... We'll revisit some of the new kids that came and went. There's a return of the Jane-Matt characters in a big way. It's really interesting, a very sweet, satisfying ending to the story."
